We loved every minute of our brief catch up with Brian Lyons the successful Tasmanian athlete, running coach and event organiser. Now operating Run Devenport, The Great Train Race, The Light Night Glow Run and the Devonport Christmas fun Run, Bryan is an emerging young event organiser that is creating a positive reputation for simply making his events fun for all levels of participants beyond the start and finish lines.
We spent 2 minutes catching up with Bryan to find out a bit more about what motivates him and why DTE endurance and Race Roster were the obvious move to support future growth. We also found out that Bryan can juggle chainsaws and ride 7 foot unicycles whilst juggling fire. Enjoy the read.
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF?
I am proud Tasmanian who can juggle chainsaws and ride 7 foot unicycles while juggling fire. I like to run a bit and wish I had of found event management 10 years ago. I love what I do and every event you organize is so different. I am always learning.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT EVENTS?
No event is ever the same and you are always learning something new before and on event day. It is massive ball of energy. I love “rush and High” that events give me.
WHAT LED YOU TO WORKING WITH DTE ENDURANCE AND USING RACE ROSTER?
I love the look of the Race Roster platform, It is more important than ever to have an easy to use registration system for both participants and race directors. Time is everything !! I loved how Andrew and James both have “running” backgrounds and it’s obvious they have really thought about what runners want in a registration system.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT THE SYSTEM?
I love how the participant can go into the backend with such ease and change his or her entry. It looks nice and I love the cross over to social media platforms. You could use Race Roster as your event webpage if you needed to. I am always playing around and learning something new on weekly basis.
HOW HAVE YOU FOUND THE SERVICE?
DTE Endurance are amazing! Both Andrew and James have taken less than 24 hours to reply back to any issues or questions I have had. In most cases these have been resolved in less than 5 hours of me sending an email. Nothing is too much trouble and there is never a stupid question.

Run Devonport Fun Run – This event is in Devonport, Tasmania and has a 1 km – 2 .5 km – 5 km and 10 km.
