This week we interview Richard Welsh, CEO of Epic Events & Marketing. 

Having been a feature personality in the industry for over 10 years, Richard is a Director of the Mass Participation Alliance  and operates the Cadbury Marathon Festival, Hobart Run the Bridge, NT City to Surf and Launceston Running Festival.

Richard is now using Race Roster for his event technology and working closely with the DTE Endurance team who are supporting his events with event day operations including check-in, merchandise, elite athlete entry and a range of other services not commonly associated with registration tech.  

Richard Welsh commented about his experience so far in the use of the technology. 

“We got introduced to Race Roster early in 2020, then of course Covid-19 effectively shut down our industry.  Looking for virtual solutions, we trialed the Race Roster technology and were really impressed with it, so used it for the Launceston Running Festival which went ahead on December 13.”

 DTE Endurance is the rights holder to Race Roster in the region however also supports event organisers beyond just the technology solution, regularly providing ‘on the day’ event support, marketing and strategy. The DTE Team were lucky enough to provide this support to one of the first Physical events post covid19 and Richard Welsh stated;

“The DTE team came in and completely managed our Race Number pick up at expo, worked with our timekeepers and photography team to produce a seamless experience for the participants.  They didn’t just provide the event registration platform, they were an integral part of the event team.  Post event, the metrics available made reporting back to the government and sponsors a breeze as well.”

 DTE Endurance thoroughly loved their experience and are looking forward to travelling around the country to support  Epic Events & Marketing on event weekends. Richard Welsh stated,

“Our team are now fully trained in the system and we’re now using Race Roster for the Hobart Run the Bridge and Cadbury Marathon”
